Bali Superyacht Charter (100ft+ Vessels)

Bali Superyacht Charter (100ft+ Vessels)

A superyacht charter in Bali means a privately crewed vessel of 100 feet or more, departing from Benoa Harbour, the one port on the island with the draft, berthing, and clearance infrastructure to handle yachts of this class. Realistic pricing starts at USD 7,000–9,000 per day for the vessel and crew, before the provisioning allowance, with larger or newer yachts commanding considerably more. At this tier the charter is built around you: itinerary, galley, watersports inventory, and security arrangements are all specified before the yacht leaves the dock, not chosen from a menu on the day.

Bali Luxury Boat is a charter desk, not a fleet owner. We curate and book superyachts through a small, vetted network of established Bali-based charter operators. That distinction matters at this level. Only a handful of genuine 100ft+ vessels are available for charter in Indonesian waters at any given time, so the practical question is never “which company” but “which yacht is actually available, surveyed, and crewed to standard for your dates.” A desk that sits across several operators can answer that honestly; a single-fleet owner will always steer you to whatever they have alongside.

This page covers what a 100ft+ charter includes, how we arrange it, what it costs in practice, and how to book. If your party size or budget points to a smaller vessel, our guide to the best yachts in Bali covers the 40–90ft range, where day rates are a fraction of superyacht pricing and availability is far wider.

What a 100ft+ Superyacht Charter Includes

The vessel and a crew of eight or more

A yacht over 100 feet runs with a professional crew of at least eight: captain, chief engineer, chef, stewards, and deckhands, with dive masters or watersports instructors added where the itinerary calls for them. Crew are employed by the operating company, and every vessel we book carries current Indonesian flag-state certification and a commercial charter licence; we sight these documents before we present the yacht to you. Cabin counts in this class typically run four to six, sleeping eight to twelve guests overnight, with day-cruise capacity higher. Tenders, jet skis, diving compressors, and stabilisation vary vessel by vessel, which is why we send full specifications rather than a generic brochure.

Full APA provisioning, handled before departure

Superyacht charters worldwide run on an Advance Provisioning Allowance, and Indonesian charters are no different. The APA is a float, usually 25–35 percent of the charter fee, paid before departure and spent on your behalf: fuel, food and beverages to your specification, berthing, marine park fees, and incidentals. The captain accounts for every line item and returns anything unspent at the end of the charter. Our desk takes the provisioning brief well before you arrive, covering dietary requirements, wine preferences, a celebration on board, and specific brands flown in, so the yacht is stocked to your instructions rather than a default template.

Maritime security where the party requires it

Principals who travel with security details need arrangements that extend onto the water: vetted crew manifests, secure tender transfers, coordination with the harbourmaster at Benoa, and close-protection personnel licensed to operate in Indonesia. We arrange this through the superyacht and maritime security service at Bali Premium Trip, our maritime security partner, which works with licensed Indonesian security providers. Security is scoped per charter: some parties need a single liaison officer on board, others a full detail with an escort tender. It is priced separately from the charter and quoted after a short scoping call.

Itineraries from Benoa: day cruising to multi-day Komodo routes

Day and sunset charters work the waters between Benoa, the Nusa Penida channel, and the Nusa Lembongan anchorages. The signature use of a superyacht in this region, though, is the multi-day run east: across the Lombok Strait, through the Gili islands and Moyo, and into Komodo National Park, typically five to ten nights. Some vessels position seasonally in Labuan Bajo, in which case we arrange flights and you board there instead, saving two sea days each way. We map the routing against weather windows and your dates before anything is signed.

How We Arrange It Through Our Partner Network

Bali Luxury Boat is an independent, English-language charter desk. For vessels at this tier we work primarily with Komodo Luxury, one of Bali’s leading charter operators, whose VVIP charter division handles the largest private vessels in our network and runs the Benoa–Komodo corridor more frequently than any other operator we book with.

When a requirement goes beyond what our own network has on the water, such as a specific build year, a particular naval architect, or helicopter capability, we extend the search through our yacht brokerage partner, which maintains relationships with private owners whose yachts charter selectively in Indonesian waters. The commercial arrangement is the same either way: you contract the charter, and we coordinate vessel, crew, provisioning, and shoreside logistics as a single point of contact. We do not own the yachts, and we say so plainly: at this price level you should know exactly who operates the vessel you are boarding, and we will put you in direct contact with the operating captain before you commit a deposit.

Realistic Price Guidance

Published rates for superyachts in Indonesia are unreliable; genuine availability and final pricing depend on positioning, season, and owner approval. The ranges below reflect what clients actually pay from Benoa, quoted as base charter rates; the APA of 25–35 percent, and Indonesian taxes where applicable, sit on top.

Vessel classTypical day rate (USD)Notes
100–120 ft motor yacht7,000–9,000The most bookable superyacht class in Bali; strongest availability outside July–August
120–150 ft motor or expedition yacht9,000–15,000Limited units; often positioned seasonally between Bali and Labuan Bajo
150 ft+ and visiting foreign-flag yachtsfrom 15,000Subject to owner approval and Indonesian cruising formalities; longest lead time
Luxury phinisi over 100 ft6,000–12,000Traditional-build alternative with large deck space; slower cruising speeds

Multi-day Komodo itineraries may carry a positioning or delivery fee if the yacht must relocate for your embarkation; we state this as its own line in the quote rather than folding it into the day rate. How to Book

  1. Send the brief. Dates, party size, itinerary ideas, and any non-negotiables: cabin count, stabilisers, dive capability, security requirements.
  2. Receive a shortlist. We reply with two or three genuinely available vessels: full specifications, layout plans, recent photographs, and a complete cost picture including an APA estimate. No padding with yachts that are not actually free on your dates.
  3. Inspect and verify. A video walkthrough with the crew, or a dockside inspection at Benoa where schedules allow, plus a direct introduction to the operating captain.
  4. Contract and deposit. A signed charter agreement with the operator and a deposit, typically half the charter fee, holds the vessel. Balance and APA are settled before embarkation.
  5. Provisioning and embarkation. We take the provisioning brief at least two weeks out, complete any security scoping, and confirm boarding at Benoa or Labuan Bajo.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should a superyacht charter be booked?

For July–September and the December–January holidays, three to six months is realistic; the pool of 100ft+ vessels is small and the best ones are committed early. Outside peak months, four to six weeks is often enough. Positioning matters as much as season: a yacht already lying in Benoa can sometimes be chartered on short notice, while one in Labuan Bajo needs either relocation time or a fly-in embarkation.

Do you own the yachts you charter?

No, and we are direct about that. Bali Luxury Boat is a curation and booking desk. We arrange charters through operators in our partner network, principally Komodo Luxury for this tier, and through vetted partner owners via our brokerage partner. You get one point of contact and a desk whose interest is matching you to the right vessel, not filling a particular hull.

Is the APA refundable if we do not spend it all?

Yes. The APA is your money, held and spent on your behalf. The captain keeps itemised accounts throughout the charter, and any unspent balance is returned to you at disembarkation or shortly after. If expenditure looks like it will exceed the float mid-charter (long motoring days burn fuel quickly), you are told before it happens, not invoiced afterwards.

Can we take a superyacht from Bali to Komodo National Park?

Yes. It is the route this class of vessel is best used for. Allow five to ten nights for a round trip from Benoa, or shorten it by boarding in Labuan Bajo if the yacht is positioned there. National park fees, ranger arrangements, and diving permits are handled through the APA, and we build the itinerary around weather windows across the Lombok and Sape straits.

What does maritime security actually involve?

It is scoped to the party. At the light end: a vetted crew manifest, a security liaison on board, and controlled tender transfers. At the full end: close-protection officers, an escort tender, and coordinated port arrangements at each stop. All of it is arranged through Bali Premium Trip’s licensed security partners, priced separately, and agreed before the charter contract is signed.
