Sunset timing, done properly
Bali sits close to the equator, so sunset lands between roughly 6:00 and 6:30 pm all year. The window that matters for a proposal is the final 45 minutes before that: soft, warm, directional light that flatters faces and water alike. We schedule boarding around 4:00 to 4:30 pm so the crew can clear the harbour, reach open water, and position the bow toward the west before the light peaks. The photographer
The photographer boards as part of the “crew” so their presence raises no questions. Florals and deck styling
Standard styling covers the bow or aft deck: fresh flower arrangements, petals for the proposal spot, and simple table dressing for the champagne service. The ring-moment choreography
This is the part couples worry about most, and the part that benefits most from planning. In the briefing we agree a cue, usually a specific song, or the crew inviting you both to the bow “for the sunset,” plus where you stand, where the photographer stands, and what the crew does immediately after (pop the champagne, hold back discreetly, or bring out the cake). If you want to hide the ring, the crew can hold it and place it on the service tray at the agreed moment. The choreography takes ten minutes to plan and removes almost every way the moment can go sideways.
